6th VIBGYOR Inaugural Function


The sixth edition of VIBGYOR was officially inaugurated on Wednesday by renowned documentary and film director Sayid Aktar Mirza. The sixth edition is a homage to political documentary maker and activist Late C Sarath Chandran.

Inaugurating the function, Sayid Aktar Mirza said, “VIBGYOR is an organization that gives space to express what you are and we should protect this place because any place to express people’s struggle is shrinking.”

In his welcome note, festival collective chairman KP Sasi said, “VIBJYOR is a space where filmmakers, activists and supporting media together and we hope this will continue for ever.”

Festival Director and political documentary director Anand Patwardhan noted that even though Sarath is not here, his presence is always with us through this kind of political films.”

Palasthene film maker Norma Markos expressed her pleasure and thanks for being invited in the festival. “I think screening of my film here would give public an opportunity to discuss about issues logically and politically,” she added.

Ex Speaker Therambil Ramakrishnan released festival book by giving it to Ravunni, Secretary Kerala Sangeetha Nadaka Academy.

The function was enriched with the presence of Corporation Mayor IP Paul, MLA and the organizing committee Chairman Rajaji Mathew Thomas, etc. VIBGYOR Executive Director Musthafa Deshamangalam expressed vote of thanks.
