Dear friends,
                       We gladly invite you to

 7th ViBGYOR International Film Festival

February 22-26, 2012
Sangeeta Nataka Akademi, Thrissur, Kerala, India.

As in a rainbow, VIBGYOR expresses the significance of identities, and it holds that ‘beauty’ comes from diversity rather than homogeneity and uniformity. In a world where differences are tolerated lesser day by day, ViBGYOR stands to celebrate the diversity of life and culture through the media of cinema.

The uniqueness of ViBGYOR is that it is not a film festival in the conventional mould, but is an attempt to use cinema as an instrument to bring together people: filmmakers, activists, students and ordinary people.

Apart from screenings of around 100 documentaries and short fiction films, a couple of Mini Conferences and Campaigns on relevant contemporary issues held at the festival venue itself. ‘Koodamkulam Anti-Nuclear struggle’ is taken up as the main campaign at ViBGYOR-2012.

The Focus Theme for ViBGYOR-2012 is `South Asia: Lives and Livelihoods’. We have 2 retrospectives this year: Of Francesco Taboada Tabone and Sanjay Kak. Both filmmakers will attend the festival. ViBGYOR Package showcases films on the 7 themes of ViBGYOR.

This year `C. Sarat Memorial Lecture’ will be delivered by well known journalist and Magsaysay Award winner P. Sainath. A Master Class by twice Academy Award nominee David Bradbury from Australia is also part of the 7th ViBGYOR.
