ViBGYOR awards 3 Film Fellowships- one `Sarat Memorial Film Fellowship' and two ViBGYOR Young Filmmakers’ Fellowships—every year in view of encouraging filmmakers to come up with meaningful films. The fellowships are envisaged as partial financial/infrastructural support to selected filmmakers from the films screened at each ViBGYOR to pursue and complete their next film project.


`Saratchandran Film Fellowship' is awarded to a filmmaker, whose documentary film is screened in the National/ Regional (Kerala Spectrum) category is judged by the Jury as a testimony of the filmmaker’s commitment to address the larger political and socio-economic questions at local or global level and especially in the South Asian context. The Fellowship includes a Citation and a Cash award of Rs. 25,000 (Twenty Five thousand). 

Apart from this, there are two ‘ViBGYOR Young Filmmaker Fellowships’; both come under the Regional (Kerala Spectrum) category. A citation and a cash award of Rs.10, 000 (Ten Thousand) each is given to two young filmmakers residing and making films in Kerala, one each in `Documentary’ and `Short Fiction’ category.  

All THREE film fellowships will be announced and presented at the Closing ceremony.
